From Pale to Polished: How Gatineau’s Golden Glow Transforms My Summer Style
Discover how I use Gatineau’s award-winning Golden Glow Gradual Tan to achieve radiant skin without the sun.
When British summer days kick start, I don’t have the time to wait for the sun to come out! I reach straight for Gatineau’s Golden Glow Gradual Tan, which I’ve been using for a good few years now.
This multi-award-winning hero product is my secret to looking like I’ve just got back from holiday, with the added bonus of no UV damage.
It gives me the perfect golden hue that builds effortlessly over a few days, and I love how it enhances everything I wear - from a white t-shirts with denim to a bold colourful summer dress.
Never underestimate just how important a glow is to get that summer confident style the minute you walk out the door.
Skincare Benefits To Supercharging Your Glow
GATINEAU boast that their Golden Glow Gradual Tan is fast absorbing and can instantly hydrate whist gradually tanning the areas you’ve applied it too. I’ve found it’s been ideal to use all over the body and my legs benefit hugely as they never ever tan on beach or sunbathing days in the park.
Key ingredients that help your skin include; Coconut oil for hydration and smoothness, Vitamin E a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the skin as well as DHA, it’s a natural ingredient derived from Sugar Cane which reacts naturally with amino acids in the skin to produce a subtle golden glow.
Never underestimate just how important a glow is to get that summer confident style the minute you walk out the door.
How To Apply GATINEAU’S Golden Glow Gradual Tan For Best Results
Here’s how I apply it to get the best results — fast, even, and streak-free:
Waxing or hair removal? Make sure it’s done at least 48 hours before applying. I don’t shave myself, but if you do, I’d suggest waiting a minimum of 24 hours. Just be mindful that regular shaving may affect how well the tan develops and lasts.
Exfoliate the morning of your application while in the shower. This helps prep the skin for an even, long-lasting result.
Once I’m out and fully dry, I apply the product using my hands in circular motions over the areas where I want the tan to build. You can go for a targeted glow or apply it all over — totally up to you.
I take a couple of tissues and gently press them over my inner and outer elbows, knees, and any dry areas on my feet — just to soften any build-up.
Don’t forget to wash your hands!
Allow your skin to dry fully before getting dressed or putting on shoes.
My legs tend to take a bit longer to tan, so I’ll often reapply after about three hours and repeat steps three to six. Honestly it works a treat!
If you're in a rush to get a glow on, you can double up on all areas. What I like to do is prep my skin early evening, around 6pm - apply the gradual tan, then repeat the process again at 10pm before bed, don’t forget to wait until it’s dry. By the time I wake up, my glow is just right and ready for the day ahead - I just love it!
